Sailing the Wight 2008

This year a fleet of 17 yachts set off to Sail The Wight to raise sponsorship for the Hospice. The winds were light leading up to and past the Needles, but once past St.Catherines the wind picked up and everyone had a good sail back to East Cowes SC. Also 4 yachts took part in the first 18 nm race or cruise in the Solent for boats under 20ft.

There then followed a great band, BBQ and bar at the Club in the evening. The whole event raised approximately £2,500 and our thanks to everyone at East Cowes SC who helped make it a great day.

The date for the 2009 race has yet to be confirmed. As soon as it is agreed it will be posted on
